Daddy’s birthday
February 6th, 2006 by AnnalenaToday was daddy’s 38th birthday and we celebrated by getting up early and opening his presents. I gave him some smelly bath toys in the shape of an octopus, and they had to be taken off me by force because I decided in the end I was reluctant to hand them over. But here we are later (below) having a good time in the bath, with me showing great magnanimity in sharing my own octopuses. And there’s another picture of us having a toast to daddy’s health, though later he didn’t feel so good on account of the quantity of tequila in his cocktail.
Art!
February 8th, 2006 by AnnalenaI spent today at Nanna Luba and Asher’s place. We went for a swim (I went underwater again), and I played with some of Asher’s art in his studio.
Crawling (sort of)
February 11th, 2006 by AnnalenaLast night lots of people came to our place. Uncle Luke and Auntie Mel came over early, and I had lots of fun with them before I headed off to bath and bed.
As you can see from the pictures and video below I’m moving around more and more every day. I really want to be able to walk, and I’m getting up on my feet at every opportunity, but the best I can do at the moment is what my parents call a crab crawl. They may laugh at me as I klomp around, but it is effective.
(To view the video you need to have the Xvid codec installed on your system, otherwise you’ll just get a blank screen).
Cricket and Picnic
February 12th, 2006 by AnnalenaWe went down to St Kilda today to watch the Celebrity Charity Cricket Match (flyer .pdf). Apparently the antics on the field were very amusing, and the commentary witty, but I was more interested in playing with all the beautiful dogs in the crowd.
After the cricket we went to a nice picnic in the St Kilda Botanical Gardens (again, like a few weeks ago!)
Dad’s birthday dinner
February 13th, 2006 by AnnalenaTonight we went to the Indian Palace for a yummy meal to celebrate my dad’s birthday (even though it was a week ago). I ate some dhal and played with Grandpa and Bianca.
Cousins in the Heavens
February 14th, 2006 by AnnalenaI spent a lot of today playing at Asher and Nanna Luba’s place. The best part of the day was when my cousins Ruby, Leah and Hannah came over after school and we all played together in some of Asher’s new artworks - to be exhibited in a gallery later this year.

Cafes, a visit, a waltz, and a birthday
February 19th, 2006 by AnnalenaSuch a busy dizzy day today!
8am: Wake Up. Time to play. Lots of fun to have today! I slept really well last night, only waking once between 8pm and 8am.
10am: Off to one of my favourite cafes with my mum, then to another cafe to meet Lisette, and we also bumped into Rob.
12.30pm: In the car and off to see Arushan and Jak. We played a lot, ate some yummy stuff, and I definitely didn’t want to sleep - way too much exciting stuff going on for that.
3pm: Back in the car and into North Fitzroy, to the Edinburgh Gardens to meet Genevieve to drink and make merry to celebrate her 40th birthday. There was also a festival on in the gardens, the “Celebrate Yarra” festival. Lots of other children and cute dogs running around - so much fun!
4pm: Across the park to the main stage at the festival, where I met up with Jida and we did some dancing to his dad’s Bluegrass band, the “Devil Goat Family String Band”.
6.30pm: We went into a restaurant across the road from the park for a quick meal. I thought that the waiters were really spunky and the dhal really yummy!
8pm: Home, bath, time for bed sleepy head!
