Heath and Stephanie visit

September 4th, 2006 by Annalena

Uncle Heath and his girlfriend Stephanie came to visit this weekend and we’ve had a fabulous time together hanging out at cafes, playing in the park, and running round at home. This morning Heath carried me in the backpack down to one of my favourite haunts and we all had breakfast together:

After breakfast we went to one of my favourite parks. We played with the footy, played on the swings and slides, and had a great time together:

At the park my dad took a little video of me going down the big bumpy slide. Later I watched the video and found it pretty funny. Then I watched myself laughing while watching the video. Lots of fun!

Note: You may need to install the Xvid codec to view the videos. You will also need to wait for the video to load, which may take a number of minutes on a slow internet connection.

Swimming (and a surprise!)

September 6th, 2006 by Annalena

Today mum came to my swimming lesson at the Harold Holt swim centre and took this photo and video. You can see how much fun I was having.

The reason mum came to swimming today rather than going to work was that she was having an ultrasound straight after my lesson.

Yes, I’m going to have a baby brother or sister!

I don’t really know what that means yet, but when I do realise I’ll definitely be very excited. The baby is due around mid-March next year, and so far everything is going really well.

Here are a couple of stills from the ultrasound. The first is from 4 weeks ago - although my parents thought the baby was over 12 weeks old it turned out to be only 8 weeks 5 days old and hadn’t even formed arms or legs (hence the name “Stumpy”). The second picture was from today, but isn’t all that clear since the baby was lying in a difficult position. At least it seems to have legs now, although this picture makes it look a bit like a monkey.

The Mighty Sparrow

September 10th, 2006 by Annalena

I had a sensational time today. I went to see The Mighty Sparrow* at Hamer Hall. It was fabulous. I went right down the front and danced and whirled. There were also a few other children dancing, and we all had a funky groovy time together.

Swimming Lesson Fun

September 13th, 2006 by Annalena

Today was my last swimming lesson for this term. Next term doesn’t begin for a few weeks, and then I’m moving to another class, so today I had to say bye-bye to all my friends. We did all the usual things today: putting toys in the bucket, hokey pokey, humpty dumpty, laps under tunnels, “row row row your boat”, running across the raft (I did it this time!), and “if you’re happy and you know it”.

After the lesson we all went upstairs for a babycino and a bit of lunch. I then had a fun play with Tanah and finally had to say bye-bye to all my friends. A bit sad, but I’ll probably see some of them again one day (and I may see Sam fairly soon).

School holidays - a day at Nanna Luba’s

Lunch time

Lots of fun today! My cousins are on school holidays, so we all went over for a day of excitement at Nanna Luba’s. I had a great time with Hannah, Leah and Ruby, and we also had a visit from our friends Max and Caspar. Here we all are having a yummy lunch together.

After lunch, and a nice sleep, I watched a bit of teletubbies with Hannah, and then my other cousins Romy and Lucy came over to play. They had fun putting on make-up and fancy clothes, and they even had a go at doing my hair - they put gel in it and spiked it all up (not that you could really tell, since I still don’t have much hair).

Aquarium fun with Rob

With Rob and a Giant Squid

We went to the Melbourne Aquarium again today, and this time Rob came along as well to say bye-bye to the magnificent giant squid Architeuthis dux, who is leaving Melbourne at the end of the month. It was even more fun than my first visit to the aquarium, because now I can run around and climb up and down and press up against the glass and blow kisses to the sea creatures.

Yersterday I also had a fabulous time with my friend Sam - we went for a big swim and play at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. The Youngsters Pool was absolutely fantastic, and the wave pool a lot of fun. But we didn’t take any photos because it was way too wet and splashy.

Grand Final BBQ

September 30th, 2006 by Annalena

It was a beautiful day today, a perfect day to play with friends, eat lots of yummy food, and watch the footy. We had a grand final barbecue, just like we did last year, but this time I had heaps more fun. I ran around the back yard playing football with the big boys Dante and Ethan, and then went inside to play with the little girls Mikhaela and Arabella and not so little girl Jaymee.
