Separated at birth

October 2nd, 2006 by Annalena

Today I thought I was seeing double. My best friend, and bedtime companion, Wibbly Pig has a twin!

Update: Since that day the Wibbly twin has totally disappeared. I’m not sure what happened to him, but this might provide a clue.

Burnie

October 8th, 2006 by Annalena

We’ve just come back from a fabulous time seeing relatives and having fun in Tasmania. It was my first trip to Burnie, the town my mum grew up in. We stayed with Nanna Sandra, which was totally cosy and comforting. Even her bath was fun, though a little unorthodox.

On Friday we went to the Burnie Show and I saw lots of cute and fluffy animals. I found the rides a bit scary though, much preferring the playground at Upper Burnie Primary.

On Saturday we went over to uncle Heath’s place, and had a nice lunch with Heath and Steph. Heath gave me a drawing lesson and I checked out his magnificent CD collection.

On Saturday we also went with poppy Kerry to visit my great-grandad (I really am lucky to have so many great-grandparents). Then today (Sunday) we went for lunch at poppy Kerry and Vicki’s place. Heath and Steph were also there. Poppy made some yummy food on the barbecue, especially the tiny barbecued button mushrooms.

Jida

October 10th, 2006 by Annalena

I haven’t seen Jida for ages, not since his birthday. Since then he’s travelled half way across the world to New York and back, having a fabulous time. So today we went out to visit him, just hanging out around his place, mainly in the sunny back yard on this glorious day. We also worked on our piano duet (which we started last time I visited).

Fun with Nanna Luba and Asher

October 12th, 2006 by Annalena

I had a great time at my Nanna Luba’s place today. My great-grandfather Chaim came to visit (two great-grandfathers in one week!). Later I danced and whirled while Asher played the sarod, and he even showed me how to strum with the coconut shell pick. I also helped nanna do her yoga, and did some headstands with Asher. We both looked at the world upside-down together.

Gabriel

Gabriel's toes

I went to a great party today - happy birthday Jo. There were lots of other children and babies, including everyone who came over the other day, and a few new babies like Gabriel (he does have funny toes, just like his mum). There was also lots of yummy food, and I perhaps ate a bit too much chocolate cake, because I ran around and around a lot.

Brrrr - isn’t it supposed to be Spring?

Beep-beep

A week ago it was too hot to go outside, but today it was really, really cold. So cold that I put on my spunky winter coat and drove around inside on my joyrider. Brrrrr.

Sam’s visit and Sally’s Birthday

October 21st, 2006 by Annalena

My swimming friend Sam came to visit today with his parents Simon and Karen. I shared all my toys with him and we read some stories together - it seems that we share the same exquisite taste in literature.

Later, after my nap, we went to visit our friend Sally to help celebrate her birthday. There was friendly company and lots of yummy food, though it was a tad chilly sitting outside.

Dan Zanes and Friends

October 27th, 2006 by Annalena

Jida and I went to see Dan Zanes and Friends at the Melbourne Festival today. We danced, we clapped, we cheered, and we rocked on. Check out me dancing with Jida in the video clip below (though it is a 5Mb Xvid file, so may take a few minutes to load - video help).
