I’ve had a really fun week, but don’t have any pictures to prove it!
The day after the Dan Zanes gig Grandpa and Bianca came over in the evening and helped bath and put me to bed. They babysat while my parents went out to a party. The next Monday was my swimming lesson as usual. Tuesday I spent the day at Nanna Luba’s. Wednesday was Story Time at the local library. On Thursday Grandpa and Bianca came over and played with me. Friday was Story Time again, and I went for a yummy falafel with my friend Sam. This Saturday we met Jess for breakfast at Babble on Babylon, then went down to the St Kilda Farmer’s Market. Sunday was a great lunch at Nanna Luba’s place with lots of my cousins and lots of Asher’s fabulous food. Monday (today) swimming again… I am a busy girl!
Also, to add to the fun, we’ve been looking after Mel’s cat Bella. She’s a little bit crazy - sometimes too shy and sometimes much too friendly - but it is still great having a beautiful black meow-meow running around the house, as long as she doesn’t get too close to me!
On a sadder note Poppy Kerry rang earlier this week with the news that my great-grandad David had died. I was lucky enough to meet him just a few weeks ago and he was very friendly to me. It is sad that I won’t see him again.
I spent this morning playing with Grandpa and Bianca. I went to watch Bianca do some Israeli dancing, and even joined in a bit myself. Then we went back to my place and read stories, sang songs, played with toys, and shared some yummy fruit.
It was a beautiful day today, warm and sunny but not too hot. Perfect for another Playgroup get together in the St Kilda Botanical gardens. Mila, Esther, Rex, Daniel all came along to play. We are all growing up so quickly. Mila, Esther and I also have something in common - we are all soon going to be a big sister to a new little baby.
As well as playing with balls and eating yummy food I got my hands on Rex’s phone and called my Nanna to tell her how much fun I was having in the park.
Tonight I went to the opening of Asher’s new exhibition Heavens. It looked absolutely amazing, just as I expected it would since I’d seen many times while Asher was creating it.
We didn’t take any photos at the opening - too busy socialising and enjoying the atmosphere - but here are a few photos of me in the artwork taken earlier this year:
Shhhh! This is a big secret - DON’T TELL ASHER.
Today I got together with my cousins and had one of the most fun days ever. We all went to visit Jackson, Romy and Lucy and each did a beautiful painting which we will give to Asher for his birthday. We then posed for this photo, showing off our fabulous art. I had such a good time, painting with my fingers and my feet and getting so covered in paint that auntie Vivian had to hose me down.
You can see more pictures of me and my cousins painting here.
This afternoon we went down to Karen’s house for a little end of year celebration for mum’s work. The weather was beautiful, there was great food, a few fun friends to play with, and a bouncy trampoline to jump on. Perfect!
I took this morning off work and joined 50,000 or so other people at the MCG to protest against the government’s new industrial relations laws. I think my parents were a bit dismayed at how much I enjoyed Jimmy Barnes singing, but I thought he rocked!
You can read about the protest in The Age, the Herald-Sun, and at ABC Online.
