A fun week, and then Sam’s Party
February 4th, 2007 by Annalena
It has been a fun week. I had my first full days at the Baby Centre on Monday and Wednesday, and had a great time playing with all the other babies, playing on the swing and slide, eating yummy food, and sleeping on the floor mattress (as long as someone stroked my back while I went to sleep). On Tuesday I went to visit Nanna Luba and Asher, where we had a quick swim, and then I had a daytime sleep in a real bed for the first time. On Thursday Grandpa came over and took me down to play in the “Big Park”. On Friday I spent the morning with auntie Mel, who took me to Story Time. After my sleep I went to visit Grandpa and Bianca and ran around in the back yard with my cousins Hannah, Leah and Ruby.
Saturday was another busy day. We went to Babble for breakfast, then down to the Farmers’ Market where we got lots and lots of yummy fruit. Plums! I also ran into a few friends, including Deb and her dog Griffin, and baby Winter who was born in the same place I was born.
After lunch and a good sleep we headed to Sam’s birthday party. I was a bit disappointed, because it wasn’t my friend Sam who has gone back to New Zealand, but a more grown-up Sam who works with my parents at the university. Still, I had great fun at the party, eating chips and drinking my dad’s beer.
Today is a warm and sunny lazy Sunday. I had breakfast with mum and Mel, and then Rob came over to visit and I went to the Big Park with him and dad. We played in the swings and the slides, and I showed off my counting: “One, two, three!” I just wish there weren’t so many planes flying in the sky over us, because they remind me of Nanna Sandra going home and make me feel a bit sad.
