Diary entries for March, 2007

Arushan and Jak’s wedding

March 10th, 2007 by Annalena

I haven’t added to my diary for a couple of weeks, but I have still been having lots of fun: going to the ‘baby centre’ twice a week, playing lots in my cubby house, going to the park, going to story time, visiting and being visited by my family, and getting excited about the new baby in my mummy’s tummy. And this weekend is going to be especially exciting…

Arushan and JaklinThe fun began this afternoon when we headed off to a big fun party - Arushan and Jaklin’s wedding. I dressed up in a fabulous Indian outfit that Nanna and Asher brought back from India, which seemed appropriate because it was a Hindu wedding ceremony. I loved all the clapping in the ceremony and I danced around a lot with all the other children, and tried to give Anealan another big kiss. I also really enjoyed the food too, and only wish I wasn’t so tired to stay for the late night dancing.

Julie and Craig’s wedding

I’d barely recovered from last night’s big wedding party when we headed off to Nanna Luba’s place for auntie Julie and (now uncle) Craig’s wedding celebrations. I had fun in the morning helping Hannah, Leah and Ruby get ready for the big event, then after a little sleep I donned my gorgeous wedding gown (it was actually Hannah’s, but fit me fine) and headed into the festivities … for family, food, and gamelan fun!

Famke

March 16th, 2007 by Annalena

Last time I saw Mila was two weeks ago at storytime. Mila’s mummy had a very big baby belly (just like my mummy has now), and two days later Mila’s little little baby sister Famke arrived. We went to visit them today, after storytime, and had a lovely morning tea with them.

From now on I’ll have to learn to share things with my little sister. We’ll start by sharing this diary: from now on it will be Beth and Annalena’s Diary, and you’ll be able to find it at either of these addresses:

Getting some sun

March 24th, 2007 by Beth

The midwife from the Family Birth Centre came to visit me today. She checked me over, weighed me (I now weigh 3.26kg), then did the heel prick test. It hurt a bit but not too much. She said I was a little yellow so I spent some time today lying in the sun, soaking up some UV rays. Annalena thought my padded cocoon looked really comfortable, so when I was finished she had a go. But she was way too big!

More visitors

March 26th, 2007 by Beth

I’ve had a much quieter time over the past few days, with fewer visitors than that first day home. I’ve been sleeping a lot, enjoying yummy mummy milk, and spending a bit of time outside in the beautiful sun. Here I am with some of those who visited:

Twin Pram

Twin Pram

Yesterday I found out that the fun twin pram that I have been playing with over the past few weeks was not just for me and Wibbly and my dolls. My mum strapped me in and then put my sister Beth on the other side. Mummy and Nanna Sandra then took me to the baby centre, where I had a great time playing with all my friends.

Today I had some surprise visitors. Max and Casper came over, and we had a yummy afternoon tea on the balcony of my cubby house.

My cousins Romy and Lucy came to visit me for the first time today. I had a nice play with them and their parents Yos and Vivian, then they all went outside to play with Annalena in the cubby house and sand pit.
